- Local
Rijnmond is a Dutch public media institution for radio, television and internet for the Rijnmond region, in the province of South Holland. The media institution is located in Rotterdam's Lloydkwartier.
Since 1 January 2000, Rijnmond has been the regional public media institution within the meaning of the Media Act 2008, in the south-western part of the province. This means that the broadcaster is financed by the provincial government (Zuid-Holland). Radio and TV Rijnmond may also use part of their broadcasting time for advertising. The income from this may only be used for fulfilling the public media mission. However, the Media Act does not allow the regional public broadcasting service to make profits for third parties.
One hour of live TV is made every day. Some of the programmes that are broadcast are: Rijnmond Vandaag, 7 minuten, Bureau Rijnmond, FC Rijnmond, Ed Ziet Ze Vliegen, Sanders Gerse Gasten and Knooppunt Holland. Bureau Rijnmond is a weekly investigative programme showing surveillance images and crime reconstructions. In the programme Sanders Gerse Gasten, Sander de Kramer drives through the region in a pimped-out SEAT Marbella, together with a well-known local resident. Presenters include Ed Aldus (weather report), Suzanne Mulder (Bureau Rijnmond), Bart Nolles (FC Rijnmond), Sinclair Bischop and Dennis van Eersel.
